The Cartmell Cabin was the first building built in Fiddlers Grove. The reconstructed cabin was previously the home to the fifth generation of the Cartmell family living in the cabin when the property became part of the Industrial Park on Cainsville Road.
The Cartmell patriarch received his emancipation papers immediately following the Civil War in the 1860's, and was give the logs in this building and some acres to build a cabin for his family to live in and work on.
The furnishings are representative of the primitive furniture from the 1860 era.
The cabin was dismantled and moved to Fiddlers Grove in 1991.
Donated by Rep. Stratton and Marty Bone and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bone and family.
