2011 marks the 20th Anniversary of Fiddlers Grove Historic Village
We are commemorating the occasion with a year-long celebration. On the "2nd Saturday" of each month Fiddlers Grove will present an exhibition focusing on different aspects of the daily lives of early Wilson County residents. Fiddlers Grove volunteer docents will bring the exhibits to life through the interpretation of the many buildings, artifacts and displays. Our demonstrators offer visitors the opportunity for “hands-on” experience in the different crafts and life-skills that were the daily activities of our ancestors.
In February, 2nd Saturday - Live at Fiddlers Grove will feature:
"Emancipation to Leadership" - Fiddlers Grove Celebrates Black History Month
12pm to 5pm
Featured Buildings: Cartmell Cabin, Wheeler School and A.C. Wharton Store
Our special guest will be Wilson County native son, A.C. Wharton, Jr., current Mayor of Memphis, Tennessee.
And as always we will wrap the day with...
"Bluegrass in the Grove"
6pm to 9pm
featuring Sugar Ridge!
Lunch and Dinner Menus will include:
- Country Ham Sandwiches featuring Rice’s awarding winning country ham
- Corn casserole
- Fiddlers Grove’s signature Peach Cobbler
- Coffee, Cocoa or Cokes
We thank our sponsors MTEMC and our Friends of Fiddlers grove for their support.
